A fast growing specialist engineering start-up is seeking a Marine Engineering Lead to an join an exciting technology innovation company. Based in London you will benefit from an excellent salary of 80,000 (depending on experience), 25 days' holiday (plus bank holidays) and the opportunity to progress to a director-level position. The company works within the maritime nuclear industry and runs projects with some of the largest and most influential maritime engineering groups worldwide.
As a Marine Engineering Lead you will be responsible for:
- The design and management of the ship powering program.
- Coordinating the engineering department and supporting all aspects of the program from concept through to delivery.
- Contributing to the support of the products design lifecycle by coordinating resources, providing technical support to key customers, defining and writing the specification and the delivery of engineering outputs.
- End-to-end project management of multiple projects from concept through to manufacture.
- Modifying existing drawings when required to and to an agreed schedule.
- Identifying whenever possible opportunities to increase efficiency and cost reduction.
- Using Solidworks to create 2D and 3D CAD concepts and final drawings to industry standard.
To be a successful Marine Engineering Lead you will have:
- Qualified to degree level in either PhD, MSc, MA, Meng in either Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years' experience within Marine Engineering.
- A deep knowledge and proven experience of marine auxiliary systems and design of ships or offshore units.
- Experience working on complete project lifecycle from initial concept to final production.
- Able to manage and lead a multidisciplinary team across a variety of engineering fields.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Either Chartered Engineering status or working towards.
- 3D CAD (such as CREO, Solidworks, solid-works).
