About Our Client: A leading public sector entity is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join their dynamic team in Derby. As a crucial member of their procurement department, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing procurement activities with a focus on NHS environments and a deep understanding of public sector regulations.
Responsibilities:
- NHS Expertise: Utilise in-depth knowledge of NHS procurement processes, regulations, and healthcare supply chain dynamics to effectively manage procurement activities.
- Public Sector Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant public sector regulations, guidelines, and policies to guarantee transparent and ethical procurement processes.
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimise procurement processes and achieve cost savings while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions to ensure value for money and reliability in the supply chain.
- Contract Management: Oversee the entire contract management lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to monitoring and compliance, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including departments within the organisation, to understand their procurement needs and provide expert guidance on best practices.
- Budget Management: Work closely with finance teams to manage procurement budgets effectively, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the performance of procurement activities, making data-driven improvements as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field would be desirable.
- Experience in procurement, with a focus on NHS environments and a strong understanding of public sector regulations.
- Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant procurement software and tools.
- A commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in procurement activities.
