Our Opportunity
Thales Optronics and Missile Electronic (OME) have a really exciting opportunity for a Senior Project/Portfolio Manager to join the team in Glasgow.
You will be responsible for the delivery of a large International Project, where you will be taking the lead and ensuring successful delivery of this project where you will ensure effective liaison happens across a the project to ensure that best practice is being applied and that project management capability strengths and weaknesses are identified and managed.
You will also provide coaching and direct support to less experienced and less capable project managers ensuring high standards of rigour to change control, commercial awareness and stakeholder management is achieved

This role is based in Glasgow with 10% travel to Thales UK sites and some International travel
About You
You will have an extensive track record of delivering successful complex projects in contexts relevant to Thales and will have experience working in a complex, multidisciplinary, multi-site organisation together with the following:-
- Full business lifecycle management, including capture, qualification and developing capture plans and winning strategies.
- A solid understanding of generic processes and techniques used to schedule project activities (for example; WBS, OBS, milestones, dependencies , EVM).Project Management process (including Change Control, Risk Management and Information Management), and project life cycle for complex projects through delivery of Development, Implementation, Closure and Support activity.
- The ability to directly successfully manage project teams (including the coaching of project managers).
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to successfully manage change together with excellent negotiation skills with the ability to deal with customers, partners, suppliers and other parts of the business (stakeholder management skills).
