This newly created position of Social Enterprise Business Development Manager is an exciting opportunity to lead and progress an established Social Enterprise with ambitious plans for development and growth.Duties & ResponsibilitiesBusiness DevelopmentGain a full understanding of all areas of the business to enable the post-holder to identify and develop new opportunities.To review and progress the workplan for the existing charity shop.To develop and project manage a café and service space at Frederick StreetTo undertake a market review to identify opportunities for growth, and to lead on the development of appropriate Social Enterprise initiatives as agreed with the Chief Executive and the Board.Identify opportunities for the sustainable development of the organisation which meets Quaker Service’s mission, strategic objectives and which can be supported through Social Enterprise, through new income generation, funding streams, partnerships, and commissioning opportunities.Lead on the management and preparation of all funding bids, tenders, and business proposals for Quaker Care Ltd.Coordinate the implementation of agreed new projects with the Chief Executive and help to develop monitoring plans, and co-ordinate impact reporting arrangements.To develop a strategic plan for the businessTo oversee PR, marketing and events management for Quaker Care LtdPresent and promote Quaker Care Ltd at conferences and events.Income GenerationTo develop and implement an Income Generation Strategy which maximises the annual covenant from Quaker Care Ltd. to Quaker Service from a range of sources including voluntary income, Social Enterprise, and contract income.To lead on the development of grant application and tender processes, co-ordinating inputs from relevant parts of the organisation.Identify key investment and funding opportunities for the organisation ensuring that an effective process is in place, to secure such investment and funding.To generate income from commercial revenue opportunities.Identify Social Enterprise opportunities and ensure the long-term sustainability and financial viability of such initiatives.ManagementTo plan, prioritise, monitor, and evaluate the work of Quaker Care Ltd.To develop and oversee effective workplans for each component part of the business.To line manage Quaker Care Ltd staff, providing appropriate supervision, support, and appraisal.To effectively service all regulatory requirements of business operationsPrepare Board reports to inform the Chief Executive and Board of business development progress.Be responsible for elements of overall project budgets and reporting.Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others, ensuring policies and procedures are reviewed and understood by teams, including producing, monitoring, and ensuring understanding of/compliance with Risk Assessments..

A 3rd Level education and qualificationAt least 3 years project and staff management experienceProven track record of commercial growth in a private sector or social enterprise settingFull driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes , Knowledge of/or experience of working/managing in retail and hospitality settings would be advantageousKnowledge and experience of the voluntary sectorA recognised training qualification
