About the Job

Interview Date: 12 June 2024

Academic Registry is seeking an experienced HE professional administration and people manager to lead and manage the Student Records function. Student Records are responsible for the accurate management of all core student data and support their administrative journey from enrolment to the end of their studies, ensuring the timely collection and accuracy of student data for both internal and external stakeholders and reporting.

With the introduction of the new student record system in the summer 2024, you will be supporting the Head of Student Administration to ensure that normal Student Record Registry services are maintained, during this period of system implementation and process change.  You need to be a flexible, positive and service focused manager, used to working in a fast-paced environment and leading and supporting your team through a period of change.  Leading your teams to ensure accurate, effective and efficient administration, with personal and team commitment to data integrity is essential, whilst providing a consistent, trusted and understood service to students, staff and the University community.

This contract is until the 31st December 2024 and 29.6 hours per week, which could be spread over a 5-day working week, or 4 days.

We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another.  With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.

About You

The post holder requires experience and skills to ensure that the administration processes they will oversee, will protect and maintain the quality of the students’ records.

Experience in harnessing technological solutions and leading, managing and delivering process improvement is essential, as is your ability to build constructive relationships with the University Community. You will work closely with the Assessment, Ceremonies and Exams Manager and the Curriculum and Student Data Manager to provide a joined-up approach to the service provided by Student Administration.

You will have significant experience in people and resource management and the ability to apply complex policies and procedures that maintain quality and academic standards.  You will also be passionate about providing the highest quality administrative service to all stakeholders with students at the heart of everything you do.

Department

Academic Registry is central to the delivery of the University’s strategy. What we do matters to staff throughout the University, to students and their experience at every stage of their higher education journey and to a range of external stakeholders. It is therefore essential that we provide reliable, trusted, expert, consistent, transparent and efficient services.

About Us

Come to the University of Northampton and you will see that we do things a bit differently.

We are one of the youngest universities in the UK but we are already leading the way in adding value to society, which we call social impact. We have won multiple awards for our work in this area, among others, but what matters the most to us is ensuring that our students and graduates have the opportunity to make their mark on the world too. That’s why we were the first university in the UK to be named as a Changemaker Campus in 2012.

We want to break the mould of what Higher Education can be. This has led us to build a whole new University from the ground up that is designed to reflect the way that students actually learn rather than the way they are expected to learn. Waterside Campus opened in September 2018.

Our commitment to transforming lives and inspiring change is at the heart of all that we do.

Right to Work

All candidates will be asked to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK at interview.
