SUPPLY MANAGER
About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Supply Manager to ensure their clients supply chain and supplier management functions are properly governed and managed. In this role, you will use your strong teamworking skills to collaborate with other head office departments and to create effective business plans. You should also have experience in project management, as well as great leadership and communication ability with a strategic, analytical mind.
Responsibilities
• Regularly report progress of implementing the new function to the Head of Procurement
• Develop, implement and maintain the company’s supplier management strategy with Head of Procurement and Finance team
• Ownership of the supplier database and portal within Oracle
• Keeping team members and wider departments abreast of developments within Oracle in relation to suppliers and supplier management.
• Maintaining and managing supplier relationships
• Input into negotiating contracts with suppliers
• Analyse data from suppliers to find, resolve and manage bottlenecks and other issues
• Evaluate and report on KPIs
• Request supply chain information from suppliers
• Train and guide staff on processes
• Resolve issues that come up (e.g. delays with suppliers, invoicing discrepancies, compliance etc)
• Develop and implement guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain
• Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards
• Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate better value
• Ensuring suppliers are performing their contracts to the agreed SLA’s and measuring performance
• Agreeing/rejecting new supplier requests and ensuring existing supplier checks are conducted
• Taking ownership of the new end to end process for onboarding suppliers
• Ownership of maintaining supplier records on Oracle and Panacea
• Manage the supply chain coordinator
• Work with internal teams who conduct due-diligence as part of supplier ongoing, review, and maintenance. Such as Cyber, Data Protection, IT and Finance
• Help maintain, and support processes and systems that support the onboarding of suppliers
• Understands good procurement practise, particularly around sustainability in the supply chain.
• Understands the important of an effective supplier management function to drive strategic delivery: improved financials, operational resilient, reduction in waste, compliance, sustainability goals etc.
• Any other duties as directed by the Head of Procurement
Qualifications
• Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent or strong experience Knowledge & Experience
• Previous experience as a Supply Manager or a few years working as a supply chain coordinator/analyst or in a similar field
• Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
• Working experience of relevant software - Oracle and MS Office Suite Skills & Abilities
