We are looking for someone with a passion for the outdoors and working with young people to join the team at Jamie’s Farm Lewes as our Visit Coordinator, working as part of an exciting and growing charity. You will be a core member of the delivery team, coordinating visits for vulnerable young people from across London and the South East to our farm where we offer a programme of Farming, Family, Therapy and Legacy.
About Jamie's Farm
Jamie's Farm is a growing national charity which helps young people to flourish at home, in education and in the community. We do this through an intensive week-long immersion in rural life.
During a residential stay, young people help us run working livestock farms and tackle challenging and unfamiliar jobs, designed to offer everyone an opportunity for achievenent, building on their self-esteem and confidence.
Our programme is shown to have long term positive impacts on the lives of the young people we support. At the end of their visit, 66% of all young people showed improved mental wellbeing. Six weeks after their visit, of those with concerning attendance, 67% were no longer of concern. Six months after their visit, of those previously at risk of permanent exclusion, 64% were no longer at risk. These dramatic changes are only possible through the combined efforts of the entire Jamie’s Farm team.
About the role
This is a very exciting and extremely varied role within Jamie's Farm Lewes. Forming a core part of the team that welcomes and working with groups of young people every week, the Visit Coordinator will work on a variety of activities. This includes coordinating visits alongside partner schools and similar organisations, leading walks in the local countryside, supporting young people to much in on feeding animals, as well as planning and delivering practical outdoor sessions with small or larger groups.
The Visit Coordinator can expect to organise approximately 15 visits a year, while acting as the first point of contact for the visiting school/organisation, from the point of booking, right through to the completion of our follow-up programme, as well as leading on all aspects of visit logistics and administration. They will be a part of a welcoming, passionate and friendly team to support them along the way.
