Support Worker
What you will be doingin your role:
- Supporting clients with personal care, this includes showering, bathing etc
- Administering / prompting clients prescribed medication
- Take our service user out into the community and plan suitable and safe places for them to visit
- Keep financial records
- All domestic duties as required throughout the shift
- Keeping a daily record of tasks undertaken and close liaison with team leader/ branch office of any concerns
- Service user attends daily activity groups to which the successful applicant will accompany the service user
- Service user is a vulnerable adult and applicant will be involved with adhering to health and safety requirements at all times
- Supporting clients with Moving and handling
- Ensure the smooth running of the home this to include cooking, cleaning
- Working with the client on a person centered approach
- Supporting our client to access the community to day centres, medical appointments, cinema, shopping trips
- Finding fun and creative ways to keep people occupied at home
- Supporting people to live the best life possible, incorporating social as well as therapy-based activities.
- Completing care plans and logs to a high standard
- Supporting people with budget management, house work, organising appointments and helping to prepare and cook meals.
- Supporting people with accessing the local community. This includes social events, education and employment that will help them promote life skills and independence.
- Supporting people to access/undertake activities they love
Experience:
- 1-2 years experience required
- Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, young adults or disabled is desirable.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract
Pay: £11.50-£12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
