2 night-time shifts per week/Bury St Edmunds or Felixstowe
Suffolk Minds mission is to make Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health, and to assist with this we are looking to recruit two Telephone Support Line Operators.
Suffolk Night Owls is a project within Suffolk Mind that provides a night-time Telephone Support Line, its available to anyone in Suffolk who needs emotional support including those with complex emotional needs.
We are looking for two part time individuals who have excellent telephone skills and our able to comfortably dealwith challenging calls.
Role 1:14 hours per week, Bury St Edmunds
Role 2: 14 hours per week, Felixstowe
5.50pm 1.10am (with a 20-minute break)
Tuesday and Thursday
From GBP8,328.32 per annum (GBP22,010 FTE) plus unsociable hours rate of 20% increase after 10pm
Fixed term contract ending -31/03/2025
Key requirements for this role:
Previous experience of working with people within the mental health field and people suffering mental distress.
Previous experience of providing support in a 121 setting.
Educated to a good standard with excellent communication skills
Previous experience of taking calls on a helpline.
Good listening and people skills with the ability to communicate clearly with a range of people
Flexibility to work unsociable hours working shifts including weekends and bank holidays
