Job Title: Transport Manager
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £35k
Are you an experienced Transport Manager with expertise in chilled food distribution, routing and planning and a Class 1 HGV licence?
Our client is a rapidly expanding player in the food production and FMCG sector and they're on the lookout for a talented Transport Manager to become a vital part of their growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Transport Manager, you'll report directly to the Site Manager and play a pivotal role in the logistics and supply chain operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
*Crafting efficient routing and planning strategies
*Coordinating and monitoring the secure receipt and storage of goods
*Ensuring timely dispatch of customer orders as per the daily delivery schedule
*Maintaining accurate inventories and stock control systems
*Overseeing recruitment, training, and performance of staff
*Leading and motivating the team to surpass productivity targets
*Providing regular reports to the Management team
*Upholding health and safety, hygiene, and security standards
*Managing planned maintenance of vehicles and equipment
*Ensuring compliance with drivers' hours, tachograph rules, and speed limits
*Reporting and recording vehicle defects
*Planning, managing, and evaluating logistics operations
*Implementing best practices for operational and financial performance improvement
*Resolving transportation, logistics, and customer issues
*Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
*Managing stock movements and ensuring inventory accuracy
*Efficiently utilising IT systems

Qualifications and Experience:
*Previous experience in logistics/supply chain/transportation within the food manufacturing environment
*Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
*Ability to analyse data and provide reports
*Class 1 HGV licence
*Experience in warehouse operations
Licence/Certification:
*CPC Transport Manager certification (required)
*CPC, Digicard and Class 1 HGV Licence
