Job Description
- Organising and planning transport routes to ensure timely deliveries
- Monitoring transportation costs to maintain cost-effectiveness
- Liaising with clients and drivers to ensure smooth operations
- Coordinating with the logistics team to resolve any transport-related issues
- Assisting in the training of new staff in the logistics department
- Booking accommodation and making other travel arrangements for technicians and drivers
- Preparing transport-related reports for management review
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in the logistics department
The Successful Applicant
A successful Transport Planner should have:
- Proficiency in using transport management systems
- Knowledge of Transport and Driving Compliance including WTD etc
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the logistics industry
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Able to work shifts covering both days and nights
