Role Purpose
As an Assistant Accountant, you'll play a dynamic role in our finance department, where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to excel.
Your role will involve diving into the nitty-gritty of accounting processes, from crunching numbers to ensuring compliance with regulations. But it's not just about routine tasks; you'll have the chance to unravel financial puzzles, analyze trends and work on larger projects.
With your meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills, you'll help ensure financial integrity and compliance whilst actively participating in the company's growth.
Role Responsibilities
Management of company Accounts Payable:
Processing supplier invoices (reviewing and inputting into accounting software).
Processing supplier payment runs.
Processing weekly employee expenses.
Management of the company’s accounts email inbox.
Management of company credit cards and expenses.
Financial Processes:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets under the guidance of senior team members.
Provide support during the annual audit by preparing documentation, retrieving information, and addressing auditor queries.
Regular liaison with senior finance colleagues to ensure knowledge and experience is shared.
Undertake ad hoc financial analysis, projects, or tasks as assigned by senior management or the finance team.
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide cover for Finance Team colleagues as required (holiday or sickness).
Month End Tasks:
Reconciliation of multi-entity and multi-currency bank and credit card accounts.
Reconciliation of key balance sheet controls such as accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and deferred income.
Trial Balance reconciliation
Analysis of P&L and assisting with final reviews
Be responsible for upholding health & safety of yourself and colleagues
Comply with all ISO20071 Policies
Essential Skills/Experience
Minimum 3 years working in a finance or accounting role.
Proficiency in using Excel/Google Sheets for financial analysis, data manipulation and reporting
AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent
Desired Skills/Experience
Experience working within a Group with multiple countries and currencies.
Experience working in an IT Solutions or SaaS business.
Experience using CRM (e.g. Salesforce).
Experience using Oracle Netsuite.

You are a competent communicator, able to frequently and effectively work with multiple stakeholders across different functions.
You are a self-starter, happy to work independently, free from micro-management and with a high degree of autonomy.
You are highly organised, you like to create order from chaos
You love to seek efficiency and reduce friction wherever possible, often using automations and technology to make things work more effectively.
You are highly inquisitive, you want to understand more about how things work, how things connect together, why things are the way things are.

Remuneration
£25k - £35k depending on experience, paid gross per annum
Location
UK-based hybrid-working with WEEKLY visits to our Southampton office. Please note, you must have a professional home working environment (eg. separate home office) and with reliable broadband.
