UX Design at Evri
At Evri we have transformed the way the company approaches user experience and product design. From a humble beginning 5 years ago with a single UX Designer, our department has grown in leaps in bounds and so has the profile of the work we do. We now count our CEO as one of our biggest fans and cheerleaders, and just like us, he is obsessed with creating class leading experiences.
We’ve done some great work but there is still lots to do so we are looking for talented and ambitious UX leaders to join us. You’ll help transform the way users interact with us on platforms that span web, native mobile, in store devices and progressive web apps as well the tools and services our clients, couriers and workers use every day.
Your purpose (in a nutshell)
As a senior UX leader within the business, you’ll not only be the voice of the user, but take a hands-on role in shaping the products and experiences we offer across web and app while managing a team of up to 2 other designers.
You will form a consultative relationship with directors across your product pillar, help shape product and business strategies through market and user research and design, and make sure that the work your teams produce help advance the visibility and maturity of UX within the organisation.
You will have ideally worked in a product centric organisation before, be capable of building out products and experiences in an iterative, measurable fashion that help ensure we solve user and business problems to maximum effect.
Whilst you and your designers will be aligned to product teams within your assigned product pillar, you will make sure that your team remains highly collaborative with other teams within the UX department.
As a senior leader in UX department you’ll play a crucial role in shaping training, team culture and ways of working and be an advocate of a highly collaborative approach to working with multi-disciplinary teams.
Your responsibilities
UX Leadership:
- Lead from the front by taking a hands-on approach with research, design and strategy across your product pillar.
- Set, manage, and monitor the personal and development objectives for your team members and ensure these are aligned with the UX and Product Department level objectives.
- Act as an ambassador for UX and build the profile of the department and your team within the company.
- Demonstrate the value of user centric, data driven UX design that guides and support the strategic objectives of your product pillar.
- Develop close working relationships with directors across your product pillar to help shape business and product strategy.
- Build the profile of UX at Evri, by actively seeking out opportunities to promote the work we do to the wider UX industry and seek recognition by identifying opportunities to submit case studies for awards.
UX Research:
- Work with the Head of UX and User Research Lead to refine and develop the suite of research options available to the business and teams. Direct teams in the design and application of research that identifies user needs and unlocks value for business
- Advise the Principal Product Manager and directors in your product pillar on the level and depth of research and user testing required to ensure that all product we deliver are meet usability and desirability criteria.
- Work with the Head of UX, Principal Product Manager and Analytics lead to define a data strategy to drive for you product pillar that informs user research, product performance and demonstrates the value and ROI of product and UX
UX Design:
- Promote empathy for the customer/user with the product pillar’s directors and principal product manager to help them understand the importance of leveraging customer/user needs to achieve business objectives.
- Work with the Head of UX to refine and apply UX frameworks, research, and design processes to ensure that the work we deliver meets user needs and delivers against business objectives.
- Direct your team in the creation of sketches, sitemaps, wireframes, lightweight prototypes, and visual designs which aids experimentation and fosters an iterative approach to product development.
- Review and approve your team’s work to ensure consistency of design and UX across the company by adhering to the design principles set out in the Evri Design system.
- Contribute to the maintenance and continuous development of the Evri design system.
Measuring success:
- Ensure the implementation of UX and product designs are measured using the appropriate metrics and KPI’s and uses the most appropriate methodology to show the ROI of our work
Your Experience
Does this sound like you?
- Master level qualification in design, UCI, psychology, research, or related field would be advantageous
- 8+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in an enterprise level organisation or agency, with 4 years of line management experience
- Experience working on web, native apps, or dynamic web apps
- Expert level knowledge of wireframing and prototyping software such as Figma, Sketch, or Axure
- Highly skilled at conducting or leading a full range of UX work including user journey mapping, persona creation, sketching, low to high fidelity wireframing and prototyping, and leading co-creation and facilitation workshops
- Highly skilled at influencing company and product strategy
- Highly experienced in implementing and refining UX frameworks and processes, ideally including product centric design methods
- A highly confident presenter who can explain and defend research and design approaches and decisions concisely and with gravitas
- Expert experience using data and research to inform design and product roadmaps
- Expert understanding of analytics and quantitative testing and analysis
- An excellent understanding of agile working practices like Kanban and Scrum
- A good understanding of front-end development and CSS Frameworks
