SalaryAn innovative and progressive subcontract-machining specialist company are looking for an experienced Wickman Setter Operator to join their long-established team in Redditch. Your role as Wickman Setter Operator will be to machine components from engineering drawings for various industry sectors including Automotive, Petro-Chemical, Environmental, Transport and Healthcare Technologies, setting and operating multi spindle Wickman machines.
Successful candidates for the role of Wickman Setter Operator must have previous experience setting Wickman Auto Machines, have high attention to detail and be used to working to targets and deadlines.
The role of Wickman Setter Operator is a Day Shift position, offered on either Temporary to Permanent or Permanent contract basis, with competitive rate of pay and immediate start available.
Duties of Wickman Setter Operator:
- Multi spindle setting/operating of:
- 1 x 5/8” x 6 spindle
- 2 x 1” x 6 spindle
- 4 x 1 ¾“ x 6 spindle
- Performing drilling, turning and threading
- Set up and operate machinery according to specifications and instructions
- Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate measurements and dimensions
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications
- Adjust machinery as needed to maintain optimal performance
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during production
- Working to targets and deadlines
- Adhering to Health & Safety procedures
Skills and attributes required by successful candidate for the role of WickmanSetter Operator:
- Previous experience working with Wickman multi spindle machines - ESSENTIAL
- Working to targets and deadlines
- High attention to detail
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Mon – Thurs 7 am to 4 pm, Fri 7 am to 12 noon
Salary: £15 - £18 per hour (dependent upon experience)
