Salary1st Line IT Support Engineer- required for our client who work within Heavy Civils sector across the UK and are looking for someone in based in Henfield. The Information Technology Assistant will be responsible for providing 1st Line hardware and software support to users and sites .
The IT Assistant will be given the opportunity for great training form the IT Manager whilst also providing assistance to the IT Manager, aiding service and project delivery. The Information Technology Assistant will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues remotely and on-site and for helping staff maximise their IT usage and capabilities.
1st Line IT Support EngineerPosition Overview
- Providing effective remote, on site, and telephone based technical support to users
- Work alongside and accelerate issues to the IT Manager and a Service Desk in Rotterdam
- Support sites to setup and maintain infrastructure, broadband and peripherals
- Assist in the creation and updating of support documentation, contribute to and improve internal knowledgebase and asset register
- Provide hardware and software installation services, including: PCs, servers, networking, firewalls and security, WAN/VPN, Windows, Microsoft 365
- Take ownership of technical issues, follow established escalation process for critical or high priority issues
- Ensure all technical notes are logged onto the system, and any relevant SLAs are met
- Help to deliver key technology projects, implement new customer projects, onboard support users
- Assist with and develop GDPR and cyber security strategy
- Work within existing IT infrastructure and ensure compliance as per Van Oord IT directives.
- Liaise with vendors to ensure continued service delivery.
- Assist with day to day IT service and support issues.
1st Line IT Support EngineerPosition Requirements
- A- level in Information Technology or similar discipline
- GCSE English and Maths A*-C/4-9 or level 2 equivalents.
- Full driving licence
- Experience in providing IT support
- Experience or good knowledge in PCs, servers, networking, firewalls and security, WAN/VPN, Windows, Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of GDPR and cyber security
- Understanding of operating systems, applications, databases, end-user and server hardware
- Knowledge of phone systems, mobile and fixed line broadband provision
1st Line IT Support EngineerPosition Remuneration
- Salary £23,500 - £27,000 per annum
- 25 Days holiday + BH
