This is a fixed term contract for a period of 6 months.
We operate a hybrid working model, with a split of three days to be in the office and two days at home. Our offices are based in Cardiff and / or London. There may be occasional travel to our other offices.
What you will be doing
As the 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer you will be an expert in Azure Infrastructure, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure-based infrastructure solutions. This role involves working closely with the business to understand their infrastructure needs, assessing their current setup, and designing scalable, secure, and reliable solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. The Specialist will be a key contributor to our team, ensuring that our clients receive top-notch Azure infrastructure services. You will also be responsible for the following:
- Infrastructure Design:Collaborate with clients to understand their infrastructure requirements and design Azure-based solutions that meet their needs.
- Deployment and Migration:Implement, configure, and manage Azure services, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage solutions, Azure Firewall, Azure Web Apps, Applications gateway and more.
- Security and Compliance:Ensure that Azure infrastructure is designed and configured to meet security and compliance standards. Implement security best practices and follow industry guidelines.
- Performance Optimization:Monitor and optimize Azure infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency. Make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Automation:Implement automation solutions using Azure DevOps, PowerShell, or other relevant tools to streamLine Infrastructure management and deployment.
- Troubleshooting and Support:Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Azure-related issues. Address and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and problems in a timely manner.
- Documentation:Maintain detailed documentation of Azure infrastructure designs, configurations, and best practices. Create clear and concise technical documentation for the IT Team
- Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and other IT professionals, to ensure the successful integration of Azure infrastructure.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing Azure infrastructure solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services, including virtual machines, virtual networks, Azure Active Directory, and storage solutions.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and other automation/scripting languages.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
- A commitment to staying current with emerging Azure technologies and industry best practices.
- Highly motivated individual with a passion for cloud engineering and a desire to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform.
- Experience with deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters on Azure, using tools such as AKS.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles in the context of Azure cloud environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
- Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.
