Accounts Assistant
£25,000 - £30,000 (pro-rata) + bonus + remote working
Aila is excited to be exclusively partnered with a market-leading business based in Hemel Hempstead in the search for an Accounts Assistant to join their established Finance function on a part-time (30 hours per week) basis in an initial 12 month contract.
This business has an impressive reach and spans Globally with a UK turnover of circa £60m which is growing year on year, whilst the team is a settled one with a supportive Line Manager who offers lots of autonomy as well as remote working and a flexible working pattern to arrange your 30 hours around what suits you best.
Reporting into the Management Accountant and sitting within this small team of 3 you will be an experienced Accounts Assistant who can demonstrate a track record within a similar role.
You will play a key part in the completion of high-volume reconciliations, raising purchase orders, assisting with month-end by raising standard journals and raising weekly and monthly sales invoices along with general support to the Finance team.
You will be a confident and clear communicator with a real pride in carrying out high quality work which requires a real keen eye for detail. You will be comfortable with Microsoft Excel and be able to work independently as well as with others to achieve collective targets.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Raise weekly and monthly sales invoices
  • Weekly sales reconciliation
  • Assist with the month-end process by raising journals
  • Weekly reconciliations and resolving any differences
  • Resolving invoice queries and raising any associated credit notes
  • Adhoc support to Finance team as well as any adhoc analysis required

To be successful in this role you will have 2-3+ years’ of experience within a similar Accounts Assistant position with well-rounded exposure to reconciliations and both sales and purchase ledger. You will be able to work autonomously with limited supervision but possess the communication style to liaise with stakeholders across the business to achieve collective targets.
