We are seeking to appoint an excellent Administrative Assistant. Ideally you will have school-based experience and be proficient in IT programmes such as Arbor and Tucasi, although training will be given to the right candidate.
Working in a school office can be fun, busy, challenging and rewarding and is crucial to the smooth running of the school. No two days are ever the same, never a dull moment and expect the unexpected! So, if you are friendly and welcoming, highly efficient and able to deal with anything with a smile on your face then you could be the right person for us.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent multi-tasking skills, alongside the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a constantly changing environment
- Can work independently, stay calm and maintain a sense of humour when working under pressure
- Is friendly and able to communicate effectively, warmly and professionally at all times
- Is organised and able to priorities activities, often to tight deadlines
- Can deal with constant interruptions with a smile on their face
- Has excellent communication skills and is confident in liaising with all colleagues, children and parents and outside agencies
- Is IT literate, particularly with Microsoft Office
- Understands confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
- Has excellent literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
- Is First Aid qualified or prepared to become First Aid trained
Your duties will include:
- Being one of the first points of contact, dealing with telephone calls, emails and visitors
- Being involved in administrating the various school systems e.g. relating to attendance, dinners, school trips and the school website, keeping databases up to date and accurate.
- Providing administrative support to the senior leadership team and class teachers
- Looking after the welfare of children through a first aider role
