Job title:         Apprentice Project Quantity Surveyor

Contract:        3-year FTC
Hours:            Full time, 35 hours per week
Location:
       West Ham Lane, Stratford, London 

Persona:        Agile (office and home working)
Salary:
           £20,821-23,933 per annum (dependent upon apprenticeship level)

Overview of the role:

We are looking for a candidate who would like to develop their career in Quantity Surveying.  They will help to be responsible for the financial and contractual administration of projects carried out by L&Q, ensuring that general quantity surveying duties are performed to the highest standard and ensuring full contractual and monetary entitlement in the most advantageous terms L&Q.

The apprenticeship learning will support your development and chosen career path. Whilst undertaking your learning programme, your manager will help guide your development and day-to-day work, a mentor will provide extra support throughout your role, and you'll be working alongside experienced colleagues to learn hands-on, work-based skills.

The Apprentice Project Quantity Surveyor will:

  • Report directly into the Project Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor and will be responsible for working in conjunction with the team to ensure cost control.
  • Take ownership of projects as required.
  • Management of supply chain to always achieve best value for our customers.
  • Learning and beginning to implement contractor management techniques.
  • Willingness to learn how to measure subcontractor accounts and implementing cost control techniques.

Skills and Experience:

  • Enthusiasm for the role and L&Q.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as being a good team player.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage/prioritise own workload.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow with a positive attitude to work
  • Ideally GCSEs in English and Maths, Grade C / Grade 4 or above.
  • We are a multi-site organisation, so some roles may require occasional travel between offices, but expenses will be covered. 

Apprenticeship details:  Level 3 Surveying Technician, Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician or Level 6 Quantity Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship – depending on the education level of the successful applicant.
