The role
Atom Learning is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our small and very dynamic Finance Team. You’ll be reporting to the Financial Controller and you will work closely with our co-founder to ensure smooth financial operations and contribute to Atom’s success.
What you will do
- You’ll play a key role within the accounts payable function ensuring the accuracy of data and timely processing of invoices and payments
- Ensuring clients are billed on time and overdue invoices are chased up to achieve a timely resolution
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations ensuring these agree to bank statements
- Be able to contribute to various month-end tasks, often under tight timelines and under pressure in order to ensure we are able to report on the business’s performance in a timely fashion
- Be hands-on and willing to “get your hands dirty” helping in various areas of the business, with ad hoc finance tasks that may arise
- A critical thinker – be able to suggest process improvements to constantly develop and evolve the finance function
Who you are
- You have excellent attention to detail
- You have experience working in a high transactional volume AP/AR role and experience with bank reconciliations
- You have basic understanding of VAT rules
Experience that will set you apart
- Experience using Quickbooks accounting package
- Experience using Spendesk
- Bookkeeping/double entry experience
