Attendance Officer

Accelerate Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Attendance Officer to join our vibrant team at a Secondary School in Bradford. As the Attendance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive by promoting excellent attendance and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and record student attendance and punctuality accurately, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
• Implement strategies to improve attendance rates and reduce persistent absence.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, and carers to support them in overcoming barriers to attendance.
• Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to identify and address attendance issues promptly and effectively.
• Liaise with external agencies and support services to provide additional support for students and families where necessary.
• Maintain accurate records and produce reports on attendance data for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of attendance policies and procedures.
• Organise and participate in meetings, home visits, and interventions to promote attendance and engagement.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A commitment to promoting the welfare and educational achievement of all students.
• Proficiency in using attendance monitoring systems and Microsoft Office applications.
