Commercial Manager

Air Personnel are looking for a Commercial Manager on a fixed term one year contract to cover maternity leave based at Shawbury.

Description/Overall purpose of the Job Commercial Manager

Based within the Contract Office at RAF Shawbury, the Commercial Manager will act as the focal point for contract related activity on the MFTS (RW) contract. They will be supporting the Senior Commercial Manager in the oversight of all Commercial and Contract activities, and will have an in-depth level of understanding of the contract terms & conditions.

Main responsibilities of the Commercial Manager

• Management of contract changes, ensuring changes are logged, and change proposals drafted
• Document and monitor all contract deliverables
• Document, maintain, and identify necessary internal commercial processes
• Report on contract performance penalties
• Assist in negotiations over contract performance penalties
• Draft commercial letters relating to operational activities including relief on contractual obligations
• Monitor company policies to ensure compliance is maintained
• Analyse contract performance and provide recommendations for adjustments for improvement
• Assist in maintenance of cost to completion forecasts
• Communicate with all parts of the business to foster an understanding of the contract terms
• Communicate and negotiate with the customer on contract changes
• Attend and support regular customer meetings
• Assist senior management and work as a member of a cohesive team
• Assist in programme risk management
• Accept extra duties as situations arise

Knowledge and Skills required for the Commercial Manager

Essential

• Must have a high level of knowledge in commercial and contract law
• Skill and ability to understand and synthesise unfamiliar concepts
• Ability to build relationships widely around the organisation
• Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and reporting skills written, verbal, and visual

Desirable

• Knowledge of business process analysis and improvement methodologies

Education, Qualifications or Training

Essential

• Bachelors degree in a business, legal, or related field

Desirable

• LLB or formal education in contract and commercial law
• International Association of Contract & Commercial Management (IACCM) certification or equivalent experience

Additional requirements

• Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and be eligible for SC clearance.
• Applicants must meet any/all requirements of Export Compliance Regulations.
