We are looking for a diligent Credit Controller to join a leading property company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding payments, maintaining client relationships, and improving cash flow. This will involve chasing overdue debt, resolving queries and coordinating defence of claims for contra charges.

Description
- To work with the customer to achieve timely payment of debt and resolve any issues that cause it to be paid late
- To work with Commercial to resolve any issues that would prevent invoices being raised or cause debt to be paid later than it should be
- To be the central point of contact to defend claims forcharges from our builders, referring to other departments as needed
- To update our internal software in instances where work cannot be invoiced as standard, such as where detached garages are not built at the same time as the plot
- To ensure that deadline dates and payment dates are obtained from our builders and are added to the billing schedule
- To request credit notes as required and agreed with the Commercial Manager or Heads of Commercial
- To manage the customer retention accounts, ensuring this is always kept to a minimum by recommending to the Commercial Managers
- To prepare spreadsheets where required and ensuring these are provided to Accounts Receivable to be sent with the invoices
- To prepare aged debt reports to be reviewed with wider commercial, operational and finance teams
Profile
- Previous Credit Controller expereince
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel
- Good organisational skills, including time management and prioritising effectively
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to collate and communicate facts to resolve disputed issues
- Self-motivated with a flexible approach to working
- Ability to present precise and accurate information
- Ability to achieve set KPIs and targets
