We are recruiting a Director of Finance to provide financial, operational, and strategic leadership to a reputable school in Croydon. The school has a record of strong school improvement, is in a strong financial position and an appetite to grow beyond its current size. Director of Finance Duties Include:

• Director of Finance salary: £80k-£100k
• The Director of Finance role is to report to and advise the Board of Trustees on all financial matters concerning the school.
• To work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop the School’s strategy in educational, artistic and business terms; financial advisory for SLT.
• The Director of Finance will need to review and action any changes to the governance, commercial legal and tax issues of the school operations.
• To manage finance staff and their work, including advice, mentoring and guidance.
• To ensure that the department and the wider school receive appropriate training for the efficient operation of the School’s accounting systems.
• To produce monthly management account reports and to check monthly reconciliations.
• To ensure that the school’s systems and financial procedures are compiled with, including month end procedures and fixed asset register.
• To manage the finance staff and their work, including advice and guidance
• To elevate the staffing and operations of Finance Department and propose changes to maximise its effectiveness.

Director of Finance requirements:

• Degree level qualification & ACCA qualification.
• Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role.
• Experience within education desirable.
• Expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and financial analysis.
• Ambition for personal and organisational growth.
• Courage to make decisions with a forward-thinking mindset.
