Our client is currently seeking a dedicated HR Officer to play a crucial role in managing and resolving Employee Relations (ER) cases. As a People Services Advisor, you will take ownership of your ER caseload, handling a variety of cases such as grievance, disciplinary, probation, capability, flexible working, misconduct, and sickness.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on employment-related matters, ensuring compliance with organisational policies, procedures, legislation, and best practices.
- Manage formal Employee Relations processes, including performance, conduct, grievance, misconduct, flexible working, probation, and absence issues.
- Support Investigating Managers in disciplinary, grievance, and misconduct investigations, offering guidance on meeting conduct, drafting questions, reports, and correspondence.
- Sit on disciplinary and appeal panels/meetings, providing advice on appropriate levels of sanction, up to and including dismissal, seeking necessary support when required.
- Contribute to the review and development of HR policies and procedures.
- Work proactively with the People Services team to deliver a seamless, quality ER and People advisory service.
- Undertake or contribute to specific People/ER-related projects as requested by Head of People Services/People Services Partners.
- Facilitate training sessions on ER-related topics and participate in meetings, seminars, and workshops as required.
Qualifications:
- CIPD qualification or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Proven experience in operational HR activities with a current knowledge of ER principles and practice.
- Demonstrated experience in managing Employee Relations cases with minimal direction, including disciplinary, grievances, and performance management leading to dismissal.
Desirable:
- Experience dealing with trade unions and/or staff associations.
- Effective team-working experience.
- Note-taking proficiency at ER meetings.
- Experience delivering ER training sessions.
