Finance Assistant - Worcester (hybrid working)
As a key member of the Finance department team, your role involves providing support in various financial and administrative tasks, with a focus on maintaining cash management for the organisation and producing month end.
Key Responsibilities include:
Cash Management:
- Maintain cash books
- Post and accurately allocate cash receipts onto ledgers.
- Prepare payment requests
Invoicing and Financial Operations:
- Review information sources to collate and calculate data for invoicing.
- Raise transactional commission sales orders for the Invoicing team.
- Administer electronic data interchange (EDI) activities.
Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:
- Complete month-end Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations, investigating variances.
- Produce and maintain KPI reporting for the team.
- Support the finance and management accounts team with month-end closing processes.
Procurement and Cost Management:
- Build a procurement process in the team, collaborating with business heads on budgeted costs.
- Track and monitor costs, highlight contractual renewals, and challenge budget holders to drive down spend.
Audit and Collaboration:
- Assist with the statutory audit process, including sample collation.
- Collaborate with team members on shared responsibilities related to purchase ledger, purchasing admin, coding
Experience:
- Finance/administrative experience using a CRM/ERP system in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable, treasury, accounts payable, and credit control functions within a finance department.
- Experience with SAP accounting system (desirable but not essential).
- AAT level 2 (desirable)
Skills:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills.
- Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads.
- Use internal systems to analyse and understand accounts, invoicing, and system details.
- Product and service knowledge.
- Competent use of Microsoft Office, including proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
- High degree of numeracy.
The role offers hybrid working (3 days office/ 2 days from home.
