Finance Officer

We are currently looking for a Finance Officer to join our team based in Lambeth Road London on a full time, permanent basis..In return, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £27,000 to £29,000 gross per annum.

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life. We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society. Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.

The Finance Officer role:

We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our team. You will need to be enthusiastic and detail focused individual who is working well on own initiative as well as part of the team. You will need to be proactive, approachable and communicate well at all levels. You will work closely with an Assistant Accountant.

Responsibilities as our Finance Officer will include:.

• Managing weekly payments Suppliers/Staff/Volunteers
• Coding charity’s receipts and payments relating to Sales and Purchase Ledger
• Managing Supplier and Customer queries
• Performing Supplier and Customer reconciliation and Credit Control
• Processing Direct Debits
• Working closely with the team on achieving timely month end
