Broxtowe Borough Council is looking to recruit a Housing Officer to help deliver and improve its Housing Neighbourhood Tenancy Service. As a Housing Officer, your role will include daily contact with customers and you will assist them with their housing and tenancy issues. Experience of working in housing may not be necessary for the right candidate who has transferable skills and a willingness to learn.
You will support customers by managing tenancies and tenancy issues; including managing an anti-social behaviour caseload within a patch area in the Borough.
The key focus of the team and the role is to improve the quality of neighbourhoods, to sustain tenancies, to effectively engage with customers to improve housing services and to deal effectively with issues of anti-social behaviour that may arise.
You will work as part of team of Housing Officers delivering this service. The ability to work as part of a team but also to manage your own caseload is important, particularly as the majority of the role involves spending time in the community visiting customers.
You will need to work closely with other departments and agencies to achieve positive results for customers, demonstrating effective communication; both verbally and in writing, to build positive working relationships.

Full training will be given to candidates with transferrable skills and the ability and willingness to learn.
