Finance Manager

My client, a reputable recruitment business based close to Billericay, are seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to oversee their financial operations on a long-term temporary basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts inbox, handling invoices, reconciling payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting practices and excellent organisational skills.

Day to Day of the Role:

• Managing the accounts inbox, ensuring timely responses to emails and queries.
• Processing and amending invoices, and perform daily drawdown of funds.
• Reconciling payments in Xero against invoices and chasing debts regularly.
• Monitoring payments approaching 90 days.
• Conducting monthly invoice discounting closure.
• Executing payment of invoices and handling client queries efficiently.
• Maintaining reminders for HMRC payments.
• Updating live Excel sheets with timesheet hours and managing new starter information.
• Sending monthly statements to clients, completing timesheets, and chasing purchase orders and invoice numbers.
• Updating the credit limit sheet for directors, showing clients’ current credit limits and balances.
• Coordinating with the payroll company for weekly payroll processing.
• Distributing blank timesheets to clients and managing the collection of hours for payroll.
• Sending weekly text reminders to all workers regarding hours submission.
• Performing other ad hoc office tasks, such as ordering stationery, monitoring insurances, and managing the holiday calendar.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in an accounts management role.
• Proficiency in using accounting software, preferably Xero.
• Strong knowledge of financial reconciliation and debt chasing.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in an accounts function within the recruitment industry.
• Invoice discounting knowledge.
