Reed Accountancy, Colchester are thrilled to working with our well-known client, is an industry leader in their sector. We are seeking a Head of Finance to join to play a pivotal role in the financial operations. This position reports directly to the Managing Director and is responsible for providing financial reports, managing budgets, and overseeing a team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in a similar role and be well-versed in financial packages and credit control.
Day-to-day of the role:- Provide timely financial reports to department heads and the Managing Director.
- Collaborate with all departments to plan and manage their budgets effectively.
- Oversee a finance team, ensuring ongoing training and development.
- Report financials monthly to the group finance function and weekly to the Managing Director.
- Provide weekly cash flow forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity.
- Maintain central control and validation of the company’s corporate finance information.
- Develop trends and projections for the company’s finances, including receivables and payables.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure proper monitoring of company finances.
- Manage risk, maintaining the company risk log and an active risk management program.
- Attend senior management meetings to present financial positions and assist in strategic planning.
- Pay attention to product margins and implement KPIs to monitor and demonstrate improvements.
- Set and control financial delegated authority structures.
- Experience in a similar role encompassing financial, management information, and risk management.
- Experience with financial packages and credit control, preferably Access Dimensions.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently or under direction.
- Experience within an SME that is part of a larger group (listed company).
- Excellent business planning, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Commercial awareness and a strong focus on cost control and revenue growth activities.
- Ability to understand broader business issues.
- Tenacious, persuasive, with excellent project delivery skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Formal training in corporate financial management.
- Fully Qualified, Part Qualified, or QBE
- Training in quality system audit and management is desirable.
