Job description

The Head of Search and Guest Journey is a pivotal role that combines expertise in digital marketing with a deep understanding of the customer journey. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that not only increase our online visibility but also ensure a seamless and engaging online experience for our customers. Your goal will be to drive traffic to our pubs, venues and hotels; converting online interest into online bookings, actual visits and loyalty by optimising every touchpoint along the customer journey.

You will look for commercial opportunities to drive volume and value through your initiatives across the journey whilst ensuring the very best guest experience.

We are looking for somebody who has extensive experience in digital marketing particularly search, CRM, paid media & social, has a strong understanding of customer behaviour online and how to influence it through effective search and digital marketing strategies and also is a confident Manager and can lead a team to success. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Map out the customer journey for our online presence, identifying key touchpoints and opportunities to enhance engagement and conversion.
  • Work closely with marketing and whole digital team to ensure a cohesive and customer-focused online experience.
  • Be the voice of the Guest Journey in the business.  Ensure that all the digital and marketing teams are aligned with, and compliant to, the customer journey.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive SEO and SEM strategies to increase visibility and traffic for our pubs across various online platforms.
  • Conduct thorough keyword research to guide content creation and ensure maximum visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs).
  • Work closely with the marketing and social teams to create high-quality, SEO-friendly content.
  • Monitor and analyse website traffic and search performance, providing regular reports to senior management with insights and optimisation recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest search engine algorithms, digital marketing trends, and industry best practices to keep our search strategies aHead of the curve.
  • Manage and optimize paid search campaigns, primarily via Google Ads, to maximise ROI.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and internal teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across all digital content and platforms.
  • Lead link-building strategies to enhance domain authority and search rankings.
  • Manage the search marketing budget effectively, ensuring the best possible return on investment.
