Diamond Light Source is the UK's national synchrotron; a huge scientific facility designed to produce very intense beams of X-rays, infrared and ultraviolet light. About the Role
We now have an opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to provide professional guidance, advice and coaching in the provision of all HR activities.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Advising and coaching managers and colleagues on the management of employee relations cases, as well as effectively dealing with performance and attendance management issues.
Developing HR policy and implementing associated HR processes.
Managing an HR Coordinator, carrying out supervision, support and development.
Designing and delivering HR briefings on policies e.g. Induction, Discipline and Grievance handling, Appraisal, etc.
Supporting the recruitment process.
Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the monthly Payroll.
Advising and participating in the job evaluation process.
Providing and interpreting accurate and timely HR management information.
The role is based on-site at Diamond in Oxfordshire, but some home working will be available.
About You
You will need CIPD qualifications or significant equivalent experience, with senior operational HR experience in a busy environment and proven experience in employee relations case management including complex cases.
You will also demonstrate:
• Knowledge and understanding of UK employment law and relevant legislation and best practice
• Direct experience of developing and delivering training solutions, activities and events, including stand up delivery
• An understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion
• Proven working experience of HR/payroll management and information systems.
You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
