Human Resources Business Partner

Salary: DOE plus Car Allowance £4k

Hours: 37.5 per week / Monday-Friday

Job Type: Permanent, Fulltime. Field-based

Location: Remote based with regular travel to Bright Horizons Nurseries in the North of England and Scotland (Driving Licence Essential)

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of HR Business Partnering and Performance to support the delivery of the People element of the Mission in Motion, works in collaboration with Operations teams to support the successful delivery of company strategic goals.

Provide advice around complex employee relations issues, performance management, workforce planning, pro-active succession planning, employee engagement, change management and organisational development.

In partnership with Operations, develop a positive working environment promoting the core values of the organisation - HEART Principles and Keeping Everyone Safe, supporting the delivery of outstanding care and education for children, outstanding quality, and excellent business results.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Create and execute a divisional People Plan.
  • Proactively review the people metrics and agree improvement actions to improve performance of the Regions and Division.
  • Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders, including Operations Directors and Regional Directors.
  • Drive and support employee engagement across the business, ensuring Managers are accessing all available tools, data, practices, and processes to create a great culture and place to work.
  • Drive workforce planning and talent management (specifically succession planning) across the Division and Regions.
  • Deliver and facilitate coaching initiatives with our managers.
  • Assist Managers in developing interventions, performance improvement plans, change management strategies to promote positive employee relations.
  • Resolve complex Employee Relations issues within the timescales set out in policies including those that involve potential legal concerns.
  • Project lead on all HR due diligence and implementation for acquisitions and divestments across the Division.
  • Keep abreast of changes in HR Legislation & EU Directives and ensure policies and procedures are updated and communicated.
  • Facilitate business change initiatives to ensure they are embedded in the business’s structures and practices, to deliver the return on investment.
  • Identify and develop creative solutions to drive best practise and performance improvement.
  • Understanding of and proactive interest in the commercial impact of HR contribution on driving business growth and profitability.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience of working as an HRBP in a multisite environment.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of HR Process and practices and working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, EU directives and regulatory requirements and TUPE.
  • Experience of organisational change processes – redesign divestments and acquisitions.
  • Impactful and engaging, being able to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels, comfortable and credible challenging decisions at senior levels.
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities and working with ambiguity/ “grey areas.”
  • Ability to interpret and analyse HR and commercial data.
  • Able to manage complex situations and work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.


Essential Qualifications:

  • CIPD / HR Qualification or equivalent.
  • Leadership and Management Accreditation
  • Full, clean driving licence

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
