The Company:
ER Recruitment are excited to be working exclusively with our client, who are an innovative, distinctive organisation who distribute their products globally and have sites based in Leicester.
They are seeking a confident and friendly HR professional who has had supervisory experience as well as manufacturing/supply chain industry experience. The successful candidate will have a People First attitude and provide high quality professional advice and support to managers and employees for all HR related matters.
Role & Responsibilities of the HR Manager:
- Stay keep up to date with employment law changes and advise the business of the impact changes will have to the way it operates.
- Maintain the employee handbook, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice are being followed.
- Responsible for the new starter and leaver processes for all staff dealing with queries as required.
- Work very closely with the Operations Manager and Team Leaders, providing the Department with HR support, advice, and guidance, as well as coaching and training to ensure that all managers are consistent in their application of the policies and procedures.
- Carry out investigations as and when required and support discipline and grievance hearings by acting as HR support and note taker.
- Communicate business updates, useful information and employee guidance as required.
- Proactively suggest initiatives and communications that support employee relations, welfare, engagement, and satisfaction
- Supervise the HR Administrator, providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Audit appraisals for quality and thorough completion feeding back on improvements.
- Suggest initiatives for reward and recognition, staff welfare and staff benefits.
- Drive a culture of learning and development throughout the business and support Managers to successfully deliver training programmes.
- Support headcount management issues, including restructuring, resourcing, and succession planning and work with Managers to source and recruit the right person, regularly reviewing recruitment processes to ensure they comply and reflect current best HR practice.
- Responsible for checking payroll is accurate each month, highlighting anomalies to Finance.
- Provide weekly and monthly sickness reports and maintain trackers.
- Update and report on KPIs and plans as agreed and to act when performance is lower than required.
- Support the preparation of expense budgets and forecasts by feeding in likely future requirements as well as routine spends.
- Contribute to the delivery of HR initiatives as agreed in the HR strategy.
About You as the HR Manager:
- Qualified to CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a HR lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience of providing advice in relation to HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, articulate, well-spoken and with a personable manner.
- High degree of confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise department workload.
- Able to work as a team member and form effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, employees and third parties.
- Self-organised, able to work independently and cope with a variety of simultaneous tasks.
- Computer literate and numerate - Including all standard MS Office programs.
