Job Title: HR Manager
Salary: 40,000 - 45,000per annum
Location: Leicester
Hours: Monday - Friday, full-time, office based, 37.5hrs per week (Flexi Start and Finish)
Hybrid after 6 month probation
Reporting to: Managing Director
Optima are currently recruiting for a HR Manager on behalf of our reputable manufacturing Client, in the Leicester area. The main purpose of the job is to provide a comprehensive, professional, and effective HR service to the business ensuring matters are dealt with appropriately, in accordance with Company practices and procedures and lead to employee satisfaction, staff development and talent retention.
Key Responsibilities
To Manage a HR Assistant
To keep up to date with employment law changes and advise the business of the impact changes will have to the way it operates
To maintain the employee handbook, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice are being followed
To be responsible for the new starter and leaver processes for all staff dealing with queries as required
To work very closely with the Operations Manager and Team Leaders, providing the Department with HR support, advice, and guidance to enable it to become world class
To provide support, advice and coaching to staff and managers on all employee relations issues such as attendance, short- and long-term absence management, capability, disciplinary and grievance investigations, undertaking case work as required
To support discipline and grievance hearings by acting as HR support and note taker
To work with managers to assess the skills and knowledge within the business and determine what training is needed to grow and retain these skills. To ensure that staff development plans are in place for all employees and to promote the culture of learning and development across the business
Essential Skills needed for the role
Qualified to CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience of working as an HR Officer in a fast-paced environment or higher
Experience in managing small teams
Experience working in some sort of Manufacturing or Engineering business previously
Experience in a supervisory capacity
Experience of providing advice in relation to HR policies, procedures, and employment law
