What you’ll be doing
As our HR Manager you will be accountable for all aspects of our Charity’s human resources services, including overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department and performance in relation to departmental budget.
In addition to overseeing the disciplinary, grievance, and performance management procedures, you will lead the HR team and offer guidance and assistance to managers and employees on a variety of HR-related matters.
We have a small HR team with different skillsets and levels of experience, who work together in a collaborative approach. You will be in responsible for managing and developing your team members. This will include setting objectives and conducting personal development reviews, as well as arranging and leading team meetings.
Furthermore, you will ensure the Charity’s values are adhered to and championed, our Investors in People status is maintained and built upon, and our culture strengthened.

Where you’ll be based
The base location for this position is negotiable, with remote working / home working a possibility. However, please note that travel to our Head Office and other centre locations across the UK will be a requirement for this position.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with leadership ability and demonstrable experience of operating at a strategic level.
It is important you have management experience as well as experience in working in a senior HR generalist position. You will have a good understanding of all HR departmental areas including recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, payroll, reward and recognition, welfare, learning and development, and HR systems.
In addition to:
Minimum of CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent
Current knowledge of key employment legislation
Experience of recruitment processes and systems
Ability to deal confidently and innovatively with challenging and complex situations
Numerate with experience of payroll management and / or provision.
Ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve high results.
An empathy with the aims and objectives of Field Studies Council
