Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting an experienced HR officer for our client in the Education sector who are based in Warwick. This role will require the HR officer to have an understanding of generic HR functions and support the line managers on all aspects of the employee journey.
This role is ideal for a HR professional who is looking to gain further experience within the Education sector and are wanting a short assignment whilst they are seeking a long-term opportunity.
Duties of the HR officer:
- Provide specialist support and guidance to management on a range of employee relation matters
- To support management with staff development strategies
- Prepare and oversee monthly paperwork to be provided to payroll
- Manage recruitment activities such as advertising and liaising with recruitment agencies for short-term cover
- Ensure employee records are updated in a timely manner
- Prepare contracts of employment and variation letters
- Co-ordinate and support managers with investigations for e.g. grievances, disciplinary, absence management, sickness management, occupational health referrals
- Support with organisational design (grading, restructuring, consultation)
- Support line managers with flexible working requests
- Manage family leave requests such as maternity and paternity leave
- To support with HR projects and policy work when needed
The ideal HR officer will have:
- CIPD level 5 or degree equivalent
- Experience working within the Education sector
- Previous experience as a HR officer
- Experience with ER cases
- Employment law knowledge
- Can use social media recruitment tools
