Position: Trainee Internal Sales Engineer
About the Company: We are representing an established globally recognised manufacturer of electrical and mechanical equipment based in Leeds. With a strong presence in the industry, the company specialises in the production of high-quality motors and generators. They are seeking a Trainee Internal Sales Engineer due to retirement and growth.
Role Summary: The role of Trainee Internal Sales Engineer is responsible for providing tenders for new business opportunities across the globe, co-ordinating and compiling technical clarifications to ensure the product offered meets the customers’ requirements.
You will work with the Global Quotation Team to promote the company’s brand and to assist in the selling of product to their customers.
Requirements:
- GCSE grade C/4 or above in Maths and English (essential)
- A degree, HNC or HND in mechanical or electrical engineering OR relevant mechanical or electrical occupational experience (1 year plus)
- Any previous experience in a similar role (desirable)
- Have experience of rotating electrical machines (desirable)
- Have experience of working within an engineering manufacturing environment (desirable)
Key Responsibilities:
As a Trainee Internal Sales Engineer, you will work towards carrying out the following duties and responsibilities after full training:
- Prepare tenders following receipt of customers request for quotation
- Read and review customers technical specification and commercial requirements
- Produce cost estimates using internal costing system
- Support customers with detailed technical clarifications on submitted bids.
- Communicate with Customers and Original Equipment Manufacturers.
- Liaise with Internal Engineering teams to ensure any technical clarifications are answered effectively and correctly
- Liaise with Purchasing, Operations and Transport departments to obtain critical information to help with the tender
- Carry out other tasks as may be reasonably requested by Line Manager, that are within the role holder’s ability
Skills: Essential:
- Good communication skills at all levels of the business, with good written and verbal communication and well-developed interpersonal skills
- Possess good organisational skills with a genuine ability to multi task
- Have good time management skills coupled with the ability to effectively prioritise
- Good IT literacy, especially all Microsoft applications
