To operationally provide first and second line support of the Trusts complex Network and Telephony infrastructure and systems To participate in the planning, design, specification, procurement, implementation and management of Network and telephony infrastructure to support data, voice telephony and video. To proactively manage the network to ensure that agreed service levels are met, using appropriate tools and utilities including Cisco Prime Infrastructure and WhatsUp Gold. To code, itemise and ratify external invoices to a value in excess £500,000 per annum To assist in managing contracts with 3rd party vendors To provide first and second line support services to users of the data network, including voice and video across the Trust, in order to maximise the availability and functionality of networked technology to end users. This may be either over the telephone, by e-mail or at the desk-side. To install, configure, maintain and upgrade a wide range of network, telephone and video hardware and software. The post holder may also be required to participate in a rota for the provision of out of hours support and must be capable of diagnosing complex problems without reference to documentation and colleagues. Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay.
