Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an IT Support Engineer to join their established firm based in Witham, Essex
The role entails:
- Remote troubleshooting of customer issues using remote access software and the telephones.
- Visits to customer sites where necessary to implement fixes or troubleshoot issues that cannot be done remotely.
- Reviewing existing processes and policies to ensure best practice is maintained.
- Managing a pre-defined workload via a ticket queue, updating tickets and communicating with customers.
- Escalating any issues to the line manager where required.
- Building and deploying workstations and servers.
- Participating in company marketing through expos and networking.
- Periodically checking a remote management consule for issues.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- A level of understanding of Networking to include switches, routers, IP, routing, tunnelling and shares, DNS and DHCP.
- An understanding of client operating systems such as Windows 10, 11 and the registry, shared folders, mapping drives and printer configurations.
- An understanding of NAS and other network devices as well as an understanding of server operating systems.
- To be able to disinfect a computer from viruses and malwares.
- An ability to back up and restore to various degrees to include servers, PC's and folders.
- Recognise when a system is underperforming and be able to provide a diagnosis to recommend a course of action.
- Have a good methodology in order to diagnose issues.
- An understanding of cloud based services.
- Be able to implement VoIP services and understand related issues and solutions.
- Good customer service skills and communication.
- A clean driving licence and their own car.
- Be available for weekend and evening work when necessary.
Other details:
- This position could be full-time or part-time between 20 to 37.5 hours per week.
- Salary is dependant on experience.
