Management Accountant

My client is a well established engineering company that specialises in supply and distribution of major engineering equipment.  Previously family owned it has been bought by a global group and a new and exciting era has begun.

You will be the right hand to the UK Finance Manager – and to begin with he needs you office based with him to set systems and people in place and ensure the new era begins with a solid base of financial facts.  Thereafter a hybrd role is there if you want it.

The team is the UK Finance Manager, YOU and 3 supporting financial staff – this is also about to change and grow – so you will be a good people person – a relationship developer and able to enhance your team’s skills and abilities.

So what are your main responsibilities?

Supporting the Financial Controller and wider finance team

Maintenance of accurate and timely accounting records

To assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual accounts as detailed in the timetables

Provide weekly flash information to Group

Month end reconciliations of key control accounts including all bank reconciliations.

Prepare and submit weekly BACS payment run

Maintain Fixed Asset Register.

Oversee monthly payroll & pension submissions.

Preparing VAT return

Reports and analysis as requested.

Assist with SAGE 200 implementation

Who will YOU be?

Good experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Manager or similar role

Sound knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures

MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)

Familiarity with accounting software (Sage 50 & 200)

Organizational and time-management skills

Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors

AAT Qualified or part qualified – study support available
