Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 (Women’s RWC 2025) will be the 10th edition of the women's tournament. World Rugby, in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and UK Sport, have formed a Local Operating Company to plan and deliver the event.

The Media Operations Manager will report directly to the Head of Venue & Tournament Operations and oversee the full Media Operations programme for Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. This role will be responsible for designing, sourcing and delivering high-standard services to media covering the tournament, working in close collaboration with other functional areas including Accreditation, Broadcast Operations, Venue Operations and Communications to maximise the tournament’s reach and impact.
What you’ll be doing:
· Oversee the media and photographer operations at Rugby World Cup 2025, drafting processes and policies in coordination with other key functional areas.
· Design Venue Media Centres for the tournament’s eight host venues from initial scoping to operational delivery.
· Lead and manage the media accreditation and match allocation processes for RWC 2025 ensuring compliance with established guidelines and procedures.
· Enhance the project plan for media accreditation by establishing a clear timeline, milestones, and deadlines while internally organising resources to manage workload, increase service levels, and provide clear deadlines for the media.
· Ensure best-in-class media communications by setting-up a Media Operations helpdesk and providing timely updates to international and national media (newsletters and world media briefings).
· Serve as the primary point of contact for International News Agencies and important national media publications, gathering and coordinating their requirements in a streamlined and efficient manner.
· Plan and deliver the media services programme including among others catering, transport and interpretation.
· Generate innovative concepts and creative ideas aimed at enhancing the quality of media services provided and improving the overall experience for media personnel.
· Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, integrating relevant advancements into existing media service procedures and guidelines.
· Hire, train and manage the tournament Media Operations department including coordinators, volunteers and venue media managers.
· Scope Media Operations technology and look and feel requirements in host venues and team bases and oversee their delivery.
· Digitise media information for prompt and accurate delivery of operational details, while drafting the official Media Guide to enhance user experience.
· Monitor and analyse data related to Media Operations and services, providing reports and insights to aid decision-making processes
Experience & knowledge you’ll need:
· Experience of leading Media Operations programme for other tournaments / sporting events including management of team members, ideally in a global environment.
· Excellent software skills in Excel and PowerPoint with ability to deliver impactful presentations and create effective tracking documents using dashboard solutions (eg. Smartsheet, WeTrack, …).
· Understanding of media accreditation and media ticketing principles.
· Tech savvy with ability to learn how to use new software easily.
· Proven ability delivering media services with high satisfaction levels.
· Interest in sport; rugby knowledge not required.
Personal Attributes:
· Language capability in French, Spanish or Japanese.
· Experience working in a media / broadcast role at a previous global event.
· Track-record of working in high-pressure environments.
