Job Description
To develop and implement operational plans for all outage management activities and to contribute to the longer-term plans for the areas developed within the overall site strategy, and ensure the effective delivery of the function against annual objectives and budgets.
To manage activities in compliance with site, company and regulatory requirements, e.g. SIs, HSE policy and standards, COMAH & CDM (Health and Safety Executive) etc.
- Manage an outage programme of approximately £2-3.5 million annually.
- Overall accountability for all aspects of HSE performance of outage activities.
- Ensure individual competencies and overall capability is developed and maintained within the group to meet HSE and plant engineering requirements.
- Ensure utilisation of resources is managed effectively to balance plant and site requirements.
- Overall accountability for outage budgets - i.e. budget preparation, forecasting and delivery of targets.
- Provide strategic leadership to develop the site outage strategy (2 - 5 years) that meets the site and business need (i.e. synergy with HSE, Site, asset and product strategies).
- Responsible for overall leadership of the outage management function.
- To develop and maintain the Outage OPEX Process and drive outage continuous improvement programme.
- To over see the operation of the outage OPEX & PMH planning processes on all outage activities. To ensure collated plans and resource profiles are developed and to work with other site departments and contractors to manage required resources.
- Overall accountability for commissioning function on site.
- To participate in the Global Outage Network and to share best practice with the wider Syngenta organisation.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of outage management, planning & contractor management processes.
- Basic commissioning knowledge.
- Broad multi-skilled engineering or process knowledge.
- Stakeholder management experience.
- Degree qualified or HNC with significant engineering &/or operational managerial experience.
