Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the payroll team, consisting of 5 talented team members
- Weekly catchups and meetings with the team, conducting 1-to-1s and appraisals, providing support, coaching and leadership
- Overseeing the Payroll Administrator’s work – reviewing and making any adjustments and advice for improvements
- Being the first point of contact for any payroll or billing queries
- Calculating commission, holiday, SSP and similar, and making adjustments for new starters and leavers
- Running weekly and monthly payroll for permanent and contract staff – over 1200 timesheets per week
- Liaising with HMRC regarding any issues
- Manually calculating PAYE deductions
What you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as Payroll Manager / Payroll Team Leader / Payroll Clerk / HR and Payroll Manager / Payroll and Pensions Clerk
- People management experience
- A collaborative and sociable approach – happy to get involved with team events
- Confidence with Excel and ensuring accuracy
