Job Description
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- To support a disabled young person to ensure their safety and well-being
- To support with general care needs as required.
- To support to maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client’s equipment and
- To develop a positive relationship with the young person and his family
- To interact with the client and keep them entertained with activities they enjoy, in
- To work alongside a parent or another member of the team when required but to
- To accompany the client on short trips out of the house for social activities

- Kind and caring, sensitive to the client’s needs
- Cheerful and engaging
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Ability to use your own initiative
- Ability to work sensitively in a home setting respecting the client and family’s right to
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of moving and handling would be desirable but not essential, the client
support with some tasks
- First Aid training would be desirable but not essential
- An awareness of seizures would be desirable but not essential
- A driving licence and access to a car would be desirable as the client enjoys activities
Experience is not essential for a candidate with the right personal attributes as training can
be provided, but they should be able to show some suitability for the role.
