Job Description
Our Manchester based client is seeking a permanent Principal Mechanical Engineer to work within their Facilities Maintenance and Compliance Unit (FMC). You will take the lead in driving forward the mechanical works program as well as developing and overseeing the utilities infrastructure which has a current portfolio of 229 buildings.
You will be directly responsible to the Head of Facilities – Maintenance and Compliance and as part of this role you will set, develop and monitor appropriate and acceptable standards of service in respect of Mechanical Engineering design and maintenance issues across the estate. You will manage a team comprising of Senior Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Inspectors and other technical staff, whilst also responsible for the monitoring of cost effective LTM, PPM & reactive maintenance schemes across buildings and infrastructure.
As an ideal candidate you will have:-
- Chartered Mechanical Engineer CEng MCIBSE. Preferred but working towards would be considered.
- Qualification also considered are: Degree level in a Facilities, Construction, or Building Services Engineering, related discipline. Be a Chartered Engineer or Chartered Surveyor and hold Professional Chartered Membership of CIBSE, IMechE, RICS, or equivalent Professional Institution
- Significant relevant experience at a senior level with a client side large portfolio holder
- Responsible Person for Legionella and Gas – Facilities Compliance experience
- Experience with Steam Networks
- PPM and CAFM system experience
- Managing and leading a small team
- Dynamic and driven
