JOB TITLE: Product Owner - Pega
SALARY: £73,262pa - £86,000pa
LOCATIONS: Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds
HOURS: Full-Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, and the role will require the successful candidate to be spending at least two days per week, or a minimum of 40% of their time in the either Bristol, Edinbrugh or Leeds hubs.

Where does the role sit?
The role sits within the Foundations Platform and the Protecting the Future team to transform the Scottish Widows Pega Application. This is an exciting challenge to re-write the application to reflect the current customer journeys, and to ensure our colleagues are equipped with the latest PEGA technology to deliver more efficient, satisfying, and accurate service to customers.
What would you focus on as a Product Owner?
As the Product Owner you'll play a key leadership role in making sense of the Pega Customer Journey insight and factoring it into prioritisation approaches and design choices. You'll drive the development of Team OKRs and provide product performance and benefits realisation data. Alongside the rest of the feature teams, you'll define user-stories at team level to meet customer needs and work with Customer Journey Managers to analyse user-stories for customer journey improvements. Addtionally you'll shape the product vision and roadmap and prioritise, refine and manage the product backlog.
You'll also be accountable for ensuring the team completion of product change governance (e.g. CMIA / SPFIA) and Business Readiness activities (e.g. training and comms, testing and readiness for implementation) which includes managing support from operations team and pega coe. You may have line management accountability and will play a role in developing capabilities within their functional area and investing in personal and team growth through mentoring and other informal methods.
What do we need from you?
- Previous PO experience is essential - Pega is central to our operations supporting 45 customer journeys, so requires a strong Product Owner with previous experience to deal with such a big role.
- Ideally, knowledge of IP&I and business process, fully understands the complexity of the landscape, and aware of future roadmaps to ensure delivery meets the needs of the operations team today & in the future.
- Evidence ability to manage and run a product backlog, creating features, epics and user stories that describe and define what we want to achieve.
- A Product Owner who can challenge new stories to prioritise value and ensure a minimal viable product delivery .
- Excellent stakeholder management skills - you'll be collaboratively working with business platform leads, platform Product Owners, and operations team to support with business process ownership and the overall vision and prioritisation.
- Experience working in a complex environment and managing backlogs across multiple feature teams.
- Focus on Pega 8 delivery so we can tap into enabling opportunities more quickly.
