We’re looking for an experienced Lead Product Owner who is passionate, inspiring and customer-obsessed, ensuring that the team are always focused on the priorities that will deliver the best outcomes for our customers and colleagues.

JOB TITLE: Lab Product Owner - Commercial Lending Servicing
LOCATION: Bristol
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site
About this opportunity
The Product Owner is the “value maximiser” within the Lab, ensuring that the team are always focused on the priorities that will deliver the best outcomes for our customers and colleagues.
You'll be responsible for leading & shaping a robust and curious team to enhance and deliver products and services to transform the end-to-end customer journey, while also actively promoting new ways of working and maintaining an inclusive culture.
You'll be responsible for shaping fully transformed Business and Commercial Banking(BCB) lending journeys, whilst delivering value on current journeys. This will be in close collaboration with business partners, architects and engineers and the feature teams.

What you’ll need
- Iterative shaping and delivery of E2E client journeys, incorporate client and colleague feedback into the team’s work, with a laser eye focus on outcomes & how colleagues and clients are valuing the new features
- Prioritise boldly, balancing the needs of customers, team members and risk
- Build a great team environment, act as a beacon for recruitment, build team effectiveness and capability, retain and grow great talent
- Manage a product backlog, creating features, epics and user stories that describe and define what we want to achieve in making our journeys easy for our colleagues and customers
- Champion the introduction of Platform 2.0, using new data sets, time to value metrics and dashboards, tooling, method and agile ways of working
- Work with engineering colleagues to ensure the non-functional elements of products are considered e.g. performance, scalability, usability, extensibility, ease to maintain and configure, ease of integration.
- Ensure all decisions are made within a sound risk framework - Control By Design. Maximise the safe delegation of authority and empowerment to individuals in the team in line with Group appetite.
- You’ll support delivery with the long-term vision and strategy for the products, business outcomes and journeys and will inspire others on the journey to achieve this strategy.
- Finally, you’ll balance priorities across creation of features that drive value, that deliver technical improvements and enablers to improve colleague performance and resilience
What experience do you need to apply for this role?
- Inspiring leader, a problem solver with a passion for creating outstanding colleague and customer experiences
- Strong commercial acumen: data driven and analytical, ensuring solutions meet both colleague and customer needs, and creates financial and shareholder value
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the different Commercial and Business Banking Lending products, propositions and through the lifecycle lending.
- Good comprehension of the Excess Management and Arrears process
- Proven knowledge of the underlying benchmark rates and different interest calculation methodologies applied, notably overnight risk-free-rates e.g. SONIA, SOFR versus BoE base rate
- Understanding of the regulatory environment, being responsible for governance and ensuring compliance of the overall product within a Commercial Loan servicing context
- Deep Technical knowledge of the Commercial Lending architecture, Loan Servicing specific infrastructure, and technology platform’s functional capabilities
- Experienced at managing third party suppliers, issue resolution and negotiation including working with a SaaS engagement model
- Aligned to group data strategy and under the producer/consumer model, detailed knowledge of the Commercial Loan data product, data controls and data lineage is advantageous
