You'll join us in Group Finance Support and Finance Data & Analytics Office (GFS & FDAO). We're a team of c500 colleagues within the Finance Division, providing centralised support and expertise to the rest of Finance and the Business. It's an exciting time to join GFS as we move through our finance transformation journey and you'll be actively involved. You'll also play a key role with 10-15 colleagues and you'll be responsible for the direct line management of our Assistant Finance Managers and role model strong Financial Control behaviours; influence key senior partners and contribute to our broader strategic direction and business decision making by providing insight, Control and thought leadership.
What you’ll be doing
  • Leading a small team, ensuring monthly and quarterly Control and Reporting deadlines are met and reviewing processes and managing outputs to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective collaborative relationships with our partners, to support the provision of accurate, high quality and insightful information for group and subsidiary legal entity reporting.
  • Leading on issue management, communicating and facilitating action plans to resolution.
  • Proactively identifying improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, running debrief meetings and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Developing both personal and team capabilities, using existing formal and informal training opportunities and coaching, demonstrating continuous learning and self-development whilst actively contributing to the wider people agenda.

What we’re looking for
  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or have alternatively gained a similar level of expertise acquired through substantial experience in a finance function.
  • Passion for Financial Control and statutory reporting and questioning mindset.
  • Knowledge of LBG reporting & control systems or other financial software.
  • A strong background of delivery and driving continuous improvement against a constantly evolving landscape.
  • A problem-solving approach with the ability to challenge and constructively debate key issues.
  • Collaborative working across a diverse group of partners, utilising well-developed relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of latest key (IRFS) accounting standards.
  • Experience in leading, coaching and mentoring colleagues to perform at their best.
  • Lloyds Banking Group values and behaviours.
