Senior Media Relations Manger

This is an exciting opportunity to join the corporate Media Relations team. The successful candidate will deal with top tier media and have exposure to the most senior leaders in the business

In this role you will:

•  Handle media enquiries, issues and crisis management, horizon scanning for positive and negative 
opportunities.
•  Be a key advisor to business leaders and communications colleagues around media strategy, tactics and        delivery.
•  Support all the key corporate moments for HSBC, including quarterly results, AGM and strategy updates; close collaboration with the Investor Relations, Strategy & Planning, Legal and Finance teams.
•  Draft statements and press releases, as well as supporting message development around key corporate issues, group activations and reputationally challenging issues. 
•  Develop and maintain a strong media network, organising interviews for business leaders and managing end-to-end the process.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•  Ideally have a proven track record in mainstream news, financial or business journalism, digital/print/broadcast.
•  And/or experience of working in a media-focused communications role in-house, in politics or in consultancy.
•  Be a self-starter, showing high degree of personal initiative, drive, stamina and resilience.
•  A proven track record of dealing with ambiguity and pressurised situations.
•  A Track record of using corporate communications, media relations specifically, to support and achieve strategic business related objectives.
